Liver Diseases - Gilbert Syndrome

Gilbert's Syndrome is a fairly common, mild liver disorder. People with this disorder have a moderate, fluctuating increase in serum bilirubin, a yellow pigment excreted by the liver into bile.
It is a harmless condition but often causes anxiety before the condition is diagnosed.
It is an inherited disorder, more common in males, it appears in the age range of 20-30yrs.

Signs and Symptoms:

Diagnosis:

  • The diagnosis can be made on the basis of simple blood tests. All the liver tests should be normal apart from the serum bilirubin, which is increased.
